On Tuesday, April 17th, Martin Methodist College will host a potato drop?

What is a Potato Drop?
Loads of potatoes will be dropped on the street in front of the Martin Methodist College Campus Green. The MMC students, faculty, staff, as well as businesses and churches in the community, will put the potatoes in 10lb. bags. There will be about 40,000 lbs. of potatoes that have been donated and once they are bagged they will be shipped out to organizations in Middle Tennessee that feed the hungry.

The Fun Involved!
There will be two different competitions going on Spud Day. There will be music and prizes, not to mention you are helping out people less fortunate than you.

The first competition will be from 9:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. . This competition will be made up of teams of 7 or less. The teams will compete to see which one can bag the most potatoes in an hour. The winning team of this competition will receive Spud Day shirts. (See attached Spud Day Kick-Off Competition.)

The second competition is from 10a.m. – 4p.m.. This competition will be between all of the different organizations, clubs, teams, businesses and churches that want to participate. When you come to bag potatoes you will register first and when you register you will tell which organization you are bagging for. You can only bag for one organization at a time. The winning organization at the end of the day will receive a grand prize sponsored by MMC Student Life. (See attached Spud Day Guidelines.)

Other Perks to Spud Day.
For every 10 bags you fill your name will go into a drawing to win a Prize. You must be present at the evening entertainment at 7p.m. in Martin Hall Auditorium to hear your name called to receive the prize.

After you have bagged 20 bags of potatoes you will receive a free Spud Day shirt.

This event is sponsored by Martin Methodist College’s Martin S.E.R.V.E.S., Religious Life, Student Life & Many More.
